National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB) of the Ministry of AYUSH will launch a national campaign on medicinal plants in 20 to 21 August 2016 in Jaipur. The campaign was organized at the State Institute for Agriculture Management (SIAM), Durgapura in Jaipur. About 500 farmers are cultivating medicinal plants across the country will participate. During the event, a seminar cum Interactive Meet also be organized on medicinal plants participating farmers, experts, traders, industry and other stakeholders of medicinal plants sector. Most stakeholders will benefit through this event.
NMPB has been working for the growth and development of medicinal plants in the country since its inception in 2000. Today, NMPB promotes conservation of medicinal plants, cultivation, research, marketing , quality and other activities under the central sector scheme for “conservation, development and sustainable management of medicinal and herbal” component plant in the central Plan sponsored by the National AYUSH Mission for the cultivation of medicinal plants.
