The FDA has acknowledged that chicken meat has inorganic arsenic, a poison highly toxic associated with cancer. If our bodies receive this compound in large amounts, then you can kill us. This toxic has been used in chicken meat for a longer period of time while the FDA reported 50% of tested chicken contained the toxic in their liver. It has the highest levels of toxicity between chemicals that cause cancer.
A research paper was published by The Journal of the American Medical Association, they found that people who consumed more rice with arsenic, suffered cellular changes that lead to cancer. Arsenic can cause the following diseases when consumed through food:
- Basal cell carcinoma (skin);
- Bowen’s disease (squamous cell carcinoma);
- invasive squamous cell carcinoma;
- Cancer of the kidneys, liver, lungs and bladder.
According to the Department of Environmental Health Services, arsenic is even more toxic than mercury (4 times), which affects fetuses and children for a higher degree. The biggest concern is that this toxic is deliberately added to our food chicken, so that more than 70% of chickens, pigs and turkeys are given arsenic in their food to accelerate their growth as well as the healthiest color and attractive.
WSJ reports that the FDA has conducted a study involving one hundred broilers were found to have high levels of inorganic arsenic in the liver. That they have been treated by the use of 3-Nitro, while the chickens that were not treated with this medicine, were found to have arsenic in the liver. Pfizer responded to the findings by saying that they will stop selling the drug before July so that poultry producers can find an alternative treatment. The drug is in the recovery phase throughout the US, and the FDA continues to maintain that the chicken has safe levels of arsenic in it, but they also say that chicken meat is safe for consumption.
The chicken-producing industry wants to keep any news of arsenic and its harmful effects on our health a secret, while agencies turn their heads away.
