An Apple a Day Really Does Keep the Doctor Away in Urdu

Apples seem particularly good at fending off various diseases, including cardiovascular disease and cancer.
Recently published research from Cornell University found that rat brain cells EXPOSED TO quercetin, an antioxidant in APPLES, resisted much better than cells not treated with quercetin DAMAGE. Other foods rich in quercetin include onions, blueberries and cranberries.
Antioxidants are compounds that counteract the harmful effects of free radicals. Free radicals, byproducts of normal cellular processes, can wreak havoc on your quest to connect with other molecules, which could be lipids, proteins or DNA. The actions of free radicals can damage the molecules react, sometimes destroying them. This process is known as oxidative stress or oxidative damage
Humans and all animals have complex antioxidant defense systems, but are not perfect to fend off stress .; oxidative damage occurs. Cancer and cardiovascular disease are thought to be partly the result of oxidative stress, so that foods like apples and other fruits and vegetables, rich in antioxidants, can be especially helpful in warding off these diseases.
