3 ways to use sea buckthorn in your diet

The fruit that grows in the Himalayas, was used by Tibetans as food as well as for the treatment of serious diseases. Recent studies have also proven effective against cancer, breathing disorders, type 2 diabetes, heart disease and skin problems. The juice is bitter in taste and goes well in salad dressings, desserts and sorbets. Here are 3 recipes to use buckthorn

vinegar buckthorn
2 cups of sea buckthorn berries
3 cups apple cider vinegar

Take a large glass jar and put the berries with rosemary sprigs in it.Heat vinegar and stir just before it starts to boil. Let it cool. Pour the hot vinegar into the bottle and replace the cap. Use a plastic cap like vinegar removes a metal lid and cause rust. Put the jar in a dark place for 3-4 weeks. Remove the bottle from the cabinet and poured vinegar. This vinegar can be used as a dressing on salads.

Place berries in a bowl. Add water. Bring to boil and simmer for 20 minutes. Strain the berries through a sieve. Add sugar to it and boil over high heat for 10 mintues. Reduce heat and boil. Smoothie
1 banana
1 orange

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons honey
1 cup cold water
3 ice cubes

Take a blender, add all fruits, vanilla extract and honey to it. Mix for one minute. Add ice cubes, and mixed until the mixture is smooth. Pour into glasses and serve.
